ALEXIS IS ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS! 〰️
Alexis Magaña (she/ella) is a Master of Social Work intern at Mayamotion Healing and an emerging clinician pursuing her MSW in Clinical Counseling at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She is a proud Chicana, first-generation graduate student, and bilingual (English/Spanish) speaker who was born and raised in Denver. Alexis values authenticity, creativity, and genuine human connection.
She believes healing begins when we have the opportunity to understand ourselves with compassion rather than judgment. Alexis approaches therapy through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens that invites clients to explore their experiences and define healing on their own terms. In addition to her work at Mayamotion Healing, Alexis spent over seven years supporting college students through academic advising and providing crisis counseling through Crisis Text Line. Those experiences deepened her belief that everyone deserves to feel seen and understood, especially during life's most difficult moments.
Alexis enjoys getting to know the whole person, not just the challenges that bring them to therapy. She welcomes clients to bring the music, art, humor, stories, and interests that bring them joy and help express themselves freely. Alexis believes these parts of ourselves can help us reconnect with who we are and can be an important part of the healing process.
