GABRIELA IS ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS! 〰️
Gabriela is a first generation American who grew up beneath the rainy clouds and forests of the Pacific Northwest. As a child to proud Colombian parents, Gabriela grew up connected to the richness of Colombian culture under the warm roof of her family. However, she also lived with a sense of isolation around identity and belonging when she stepped out into the world. This upbringing informs Gabriela’s passion for supporting others in embodying their many identities and learning how to connect across difference both within ourselves and with other people.
The way life can fracture us can make it difficult to connect to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Whether we're fractured by choice or chance, understanding those cracks within and learning how to bind ourselves back again is a lifelong journey but we are not meant to do this alone. On this journey together, we may explore questions like: how do I allow joy, celebration, and pleasure into my life when I’m also experiencing deep suffering and/or uncertainty? Through story, practical skill building, increasing a systemic understanding and building your sense of agency and connection to community, Gabriela strives to work with you to find your way back to a sense of wholeness and home.
Gabriela is a current graduate student in the Clinical Counseling program at Naropa University studying Body Psychotherapy. She also holds a Masters in Yoga Studies where she developed a program for individuals with a refugee status who had recently resettled into the U.S. This was a trauma-informed mindfulness program that combined yoga and art primarily to support processing and connecting over the complexity of the refugee experience. She continues to utilize body-based practices and the creative arts in her approach to therapy as well as focusing on the power of ritual to create safety and connection.
Gabriela offers therapy in English and Spanglish and is currently accepting new clients from all backgrounds.
